In summer of 2019 I will be going to Tanzania for 4 weeks where I will be working on a number of projects, each of which has the potential to have a life changing impact on the local community. The projects that I could be working on include:
Education
Water
Housing
Healthcare & Sanitation
Environment
Sustainability
Education
- Building classrooms to provide children with safe places to learn.
- Building desks for school children who would otherwise be sat on the floor to learn.
Water
- Installing new water facilities to provide fresh drinking water to local communities.
Housing
- Constructing vitally needed community housing from local materials for some of the most impoverished families.
Healthcare & Sanitation
- Improving the health of a whole community through installing and improving local amenities.
Environment
- Digging elephant watering holes, helping the elephants to survive the dry season.
- Making ethical elephant deterrants to protect local crops (which reduces elephant poaching and increases crop production for the villagers to eat)
- Rhino santuary maintenance
- Goat de-worming
Sustainability
- Making elephant poo paper and flip-flop key-rings which local people can sell to encourage micro-enterprise.
I need to raise £3950 in order to take part in this volunteering expedition. Any support you can give will bring me one step closer to my goal. Thank you!
